Kyle Eastwood had the brilliant idea of revisiting his father’s film scores. Two geniuses in their own right, they have been working together for many years, writing the music for Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino and Invictus. In all, more than a dozen films in which father and son are at one with their Grail, jazz. Kyle is a regular on the Marseille Jazz scene, but this evening he’ll be taking us into a very personal story, the great story of Eastwood cinema. For the occasion, Kyle and his quintet have invited an exceptional guest, Robin McKelle. And to the delight of our ears, the Vieille Charité will vibrate to the sound of the mythical Madison Road, the fantastic rides of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and the “hot streets” of San Francisco and Harry Callahan alias Inspector Harry!
Jazz Class Opening : Jass Quartel « The Swing Mafia from Mars »
Inspired by the quartet of Ruby Braff and Georges Barnes, the Jass Quartel, a swing band from the south of France, will take you on a journey of pure, festive jazz. Four musicians from the Moldy Figs collective, all from different countries, join forces to create a timeless music that transcends fashions and time. A veritable swing cartel, riff dealer and triplet dealer, they’ll take you on a journey through the sounds and arrangements of the jazz combos of the 30s and 50s.
