Jazz pianist and composer Alexis Tcholakian studied classical piano until he was a teenager, then flew to Boston to attend one of the best jazz music schools in the world, Berklee College of Music. For his third album, Alexis chose to surround himself with some of the best jazz musicians in the South, notably the singer Laure Donnat, around whom this original repertoire is built. Saxophones, a flute, percussions… are added to the color of the compositions influenced by Bill Evans or Michel Petrucciani. Magnificent ballads orchestrated with sensitivity, which are linked with pieces with accents of samba and jazz that makes you happy.
“Alexis Tcholakian offers the assurance of listening to the beautiful piano of a demanding musician… Inhabited by his art, Alexis takes the time to make his notes sing… He loves the pearled and delicate notes… his own compositions are bathed in a great harmonic refinement… a very great melodist. “
