Recording sessions with the Buena Vista Social Club, a soloist position in a European symphony orchestra at the age of 13, a Zenith tour with Jean-Louis-Aubert… Ana Carla has lived a thousand lives. The young Cuban cellist, trained in classical technique, has found her way in composition by drawing her inspiration from Latin American folklore, nourished by jazz improvisation and rock energy. “I’m not just a performer, I’m an artist in my own right. Her triumphant solo tour leaves no room for doubt: the young artist is living life to the fullest. A flower in her hair and a wide smile, she is nevertheless of a depth that transports, her commitment to the place of women in music is complete. “I like to be totally in the moment. Today, she offers us her repertoire re-orchestrated in a quartet, with drums, piano and Cuban percussion: thrilling!
