An evening to immerse oneself with great pleasure in one of the most important works in the history of jazz. Through the passionate interpretation of his music by the quartet gathered around Léo Mérie, the inventiveness and the swing of his compositions, recognizable among all, seize us. And then the musician appears. In Alain Gomis’ audiovisual nugget, the Senegalese director paints a magnificent portrait of the legendary pianist from off-camera moments captured during one of his visits to France. It is fascinating and funny because the master is an enigmatic character whose impact is powerfully sensitive.
