The European Jazz Festival, organised by Jazz des cinq continents, was a great success on every level.
More than 10 hours of jazz music in all its different forms were programmed.
Six groups represented our local scene, including Poetic Ways with saxophonist and composer Raphaël Imbert, who thrilled the audience at the magnificent opening concert.
The high point of the conference was the gala concert, held at the Théâtre de la Criée to a packed house, featuring a unique and legendary line-up featuring one of the leading figures in European jazz, clarinettist Michel Portal.
This dense and diverse artistic programme attracted more than a few participants, as well as major jazz players from all over Europe.
The Marseille Jazz des cinq continents festival, a member of the European Jazz Network since 2015, organised this congress with the support of: Ville de Marseille, Département des Bouches du Rhône, Région Sud, Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence, Centre National de la Musique, Sacem and Association Jazzé Croisé.
