It’s the sound of New Orleans with a Marseille accent. These seven friends and multi-instrumentalists offer an orchestration in the purest carnival style, entirely devoted to celebration and joy. A banjo rhythm section, a double bass, a washboard, and a trombone/alto saxophone/clarinet/trumpet section, all of which is enhanced by Lise’s voice. Marie Carnage breathes energy and color into this music steeped in history. Between a small brass band and a jazz band, you will embark on an exotic journey to the rhythm of calypso and swaying rhythms.
Marie Carnage will be at the Palais Longchamp on July 25, 26 and 27 and will open JazzClub 222 on July 24 at the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory.
