The Angel of Flamenco, Vicente Amigo, is coming for the first time to enchant the stage of the Vieille Charité, which that evening will have the air of a Seville in Marseille. Bathed in the sounds of José Del Tomate and Merengue de Córdoba, a disciple of Paco De Lucia, he joined Maestro Manolo Sánlucar’s group at a very young age. It was there, in the shadow of one of the greatest guitarists of all time, that he perfected his playing before “flying solo”. His first album, De Mi Corazón al Aire, released in 1991, took him all over the world. Vicente is first and foremost a hard worker, addicted to his six-string guitar, who worked ceaselessly to gradually reveal himself as one of the most innovative and fertile creators of contemporary Flamenco music, fusing jazz, folk and South American rhythms without losing the essential form and feel of “flamenco puro”.
